William is a New York State licensed acupuncturist, NCCAOM national board certified diplomate in oriental medicine, herbs & acupuncture, as well as a master in taiji, qigong & martial arts.
William earned a Master of Science degree in Oriental Medicine and a Bachelor of Professional Studies at New York College Graduate School of Oriental Medicine. His pre-acupuncture studies majored in Economics and East Asian Studies at Columbia University. Sifu William Wong Chin’s martial arts training began over 35 years ago with Southern Shaolin and Wing Chun. He later trained at Wen Wu school, learning Guang Ping Yang Taiji Quan and Northern Shaolin from Dr. Yun-Chung Chiang and Wild Goose Da Yan Qigong from Master Hui-Ru Liu, disciple of Grandmaster Mei-Jun Yang.
William practices privately from D.R.E.A.M. Wellness in Great Neck where he offers oriental medicine treatments and lessons in qigong and taiji. He also instructs at local community and fitness centers. In addition, William conducts workshops for corporate and nonprofit groups. Some past clients include Chase Manhattan Bank, Manhattan Community College, Beginnings Workshop, and Nassau County Department of Senior Citizen Affairs.
Wiiliam has served the community by providing free ear acupuncture treatments for post-traumatic stress due to the 9/11 fallout at the American Legion in Manhattan sponsored by St. Vincent’s Hospital and by giving classes to Great Neck and Cold Spring Harbor elementary school students. He has been invited to demonstrate martial arts in observance of World Taiji & Qigong Day, at the Asian Heritage Festival, and at the Hunter Mountain Festival. He has appeared on Cablevision Channel 12 News.
A native New Yorker, a former resident of San Francisco, and now a Long Islander for more than a decade with his wife and two boys, William practices in a continuum. He blends American sensibilities with training, knowledge, and passions for his international heritage to share enthusiastically with his patients, clients, students, and progeny his mission in life:
