What is Acupuncture?
This ancient Chinese healing art is one of the oldest forms of healing known to man.
Various historical sources have provided information indicating that acupuncture is at
least 4500 years old. The fact it is still being practiced today speaks for the efficacy of this treatment and for the laws and principles upon which it is based. Acupuncture has helped millions of people.
How does Acupuncture work?
Acupuncture is an essentially painless technique that employs the insertion of fine needles (filaforms) into specific points on the body to manipulate the flow of energy, thereby restoring balance, removing blockages and adding energy. By insertion of fine needles at specific acupuncture points along channels of energy, called Qi (pronounced chee), the body's harmony and equilibrium is tuned, maintained, or restored.
Benefits of Acupuncture
As more Americans are discovering that Western medicine alone does not always produce results, the are turning to acupuncture as a natural way to heal, without the side effects of drugs and chemically based remedies traditionally prescribed in Western medicine. Acupuncture has been found to be extremely useful for people who have not responded to more conventional forms of treatment.
